Well we met on Christmas Day
The snow was driving hard out in the street
Two souls in some dead cafe
Just trying to get the cold out of their feet
You sat in the window
I asked if I could take your empty seat
And we talked for hours
About everything we need
Your voice filled my mind
I told you things I wouldn't dare to speak
Your eyes, when they met mine
I never felt anything so deep
Your hair was full of diamonds
And everything you said was so unique
And I felt for the first time
I had everything I need
And the night fell so quickly
They started lighting lamps out in the street
And I knew at that moment
You were everything I need
Then a shout - "Closing Time"
And you thanked me for the coffee and the peace
I shook you soft white hand
And placed a tiny kiss upon your cheek
When your eyes whispered softly
That you had even less to go home to than me
But I left never saying
You were everything I need
